| Personal History | Kelly was born on Terra, in 2318. She attended schools in the United States region Southwest, in Arizona. There, she was mostly a tomboy, enjoying things like playing in dirt, mountain biking, and fishing. She the only child of Andrew and Sarah MacKenzie, a teacher and a nurse, respectively. In high school, she was a cheerleader and Prom queen. When she turned 18, she joined Starfleet, after attending a recruitment event at her school. She had always wanted to find a way to keep her people and planet safe, and this was the perfect opportunity. At the Academy, she found that her aptitude lay in the Law and security type things, and chose the JAG corps as her career path. After graduation, she was assigned to her first posting, Starbase 22, where she started her career. There, she met her future husband, John Miller, who was a pilot. They were unable to have children, but it was OK, because she is the type to focus on her career. Six years ago, her husband was killed in a training exercise. She has never recovered from this loss. She left active service, and has been riding out her time to retirement by teaching at the Academy. |
